Before and after makeovers

Family Room

Before – This Family Room didn’t give the feeling of space at all.

After – This was a room that needed careful thought to entice a potential buyer through the doors! Walls were painted and all surfaces de-cluttered and de-personalised. For ergonomic flow some furniture was removed. Accessories and cushions were added and a tall glass flower display gave a focal point to the room, which lit up for night- time viewings. (The red accent colours created flow and harmony to the adjoining room.) Total cost was £60.

Dining Room

Before – This Dining Room was displaying chaos to a potential buyer!

After To keep the adjoining Family Room and Dining Room colour scheme harmonious, walls were painted the same colour and the red accent colour was introduced into the artwork and flowers. It was then de-cluttered, de-personalised, adding flowers and a runner to create a focal point on entering the room. The table was also pulled out slightly for easy access. Total cost £65.

Kitchen

Before - This kitchen was shouting, ‘ I don’t want this lifestyle’.

After – The ceiling border paper was removed, walls painted a light fresh colour, de-cluttered and the outside view organised – this kitchen was transformed into a welcoming organised space. The cost was minimal, mainly elbow grease and paint!

Family Room

Before – Family Room What is this?? This room needed to be clearly defined. Potential buyers are looking to buy a lifestyle – but would you want this one??

After – After some general cleaning and painting, removal of tatty blinds, dog cage, clutter, television etc, and replaced with tasteful furniture, artwork and accessories, the room was transformed into a warm and welcoming place, making it crystal clear of its function - so, so important! The total cost of this quick transformation was £150 plus the corner suite, and everything is portable so can be taken to their new home!

Bedroom

Before – This room was overwhelming to a potential buyer – it wasn’t projecting a lifestyle of serenity, it was shouting out for work to be done. This is a negative, which a buyer will use to reduce the asking price.

After – Walls were painted in a complimentary colour to the furniture, with the headboard wall painted a slightly darker colour for interest. Curtains were hung correctly. To maximise the light, badly fitted blinds and curtains were removed and tie backs added. Artwork, pictures and flowers were also added, complete with good quality bedding and co-ordinating cushions. Total cost £85.

Bathroom

Before – ‘The way we live and the way we sell are two different things’.

After – By removing the dark curtains, adding a blind and additional wall mirrors, created more light and the illusion of space. Walls were re-painted to compliment the flooring. With the addition of flowers, artwork, good quality towels and accessories made the room a lot more appealing to a potential buyer. Total cost £85.
